مربع نص: In execution of the decisions taken by the Ministerial Council of Organisation of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), a number of Arab Companies were formed. The said Companies specialise in various aspects of the Oil Industry; they include the Arab Petroleum Services Company (APSCO) and the Arab Petroleum Investments Corporation (APICORP). These two Companies, in conjunction with Santa Fe International Services, Incorporated (a stock listed company), established the Arab Drilling & Workover Company (ADWOC) in 1979 as a Joint Stock Company for the purpose of engaging in all phases of Onshore and Offshore Oil, Gas and Water Well Contract Drilling and Workover activities and associated operations in the Member States of OAPEC and elsewhere in the Arab World. ADWOC has expanded its operation outside the host country (Libya) to countries such as Syria, Iraq and Jordan, utilizing a number of rigs, of various sizes, operated and supervised by competent and well-trained personnel. The financial results achieved by the Company have allowed it to expand considerably since its inception and to provide a good return on the Shareholders’ investments; ADWOC started with 6 Rigs in 1979 and to date the Company operates a total of 16 rigs, plus one leased rig from another contractor. These results would not have been achieved without the dedication and efforts of all employees. Moreover, it is our commitment to maintain strong relations with our valuable clients, providing them with high standards of service. It is also our priority to put the best interest of our workers up front in order to sustain growth as a whole, embarking on an extensive training program for our workers in line with industry standards and to lay emphasis on the welfare of our workers in terms of remuneration, social and health care in order to be compliant with our Shareholders. In conclusion I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to those who have offered their support and contributed to the success achieved by the Company, which has allowed us to occupy a position of high standing in the market and has enabled us to compete with International Companies. I would like to add that I am indebted to all employees for their continuous and tireless efforts in helping the Company to achieve both the success and progress witnessed by all.
